Breathe Utah
Who We Are
Breathe Utah is a group of citizens and professionals with experience and expertise in scientific, medical, legal, and communications aspects of air quality in Utah. Breathe Utah seeks real solutions to Utah’s air quality problem. To accomplish this, we focus on education outreach, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and policy change.
We talk to legislators and other office holders about air quality, we sit on boards and participate in negotiations, and we talk to people like ourselves about the everyday actions we all need to take to address Utah's air pollution issues.
Many of the Founders of Breathe Utah were also Founders of
Utah Moms for Clean Air in April 2007. Early in 2010, the Founders of Utah Moms for Clean Air recognized the need for a broader group to focus on different aspects of the effort to clean up Utah's dirty air.

Our Mission
Breathe Utah advances real solutions to Utah’s air quality problem. We address root causes of pollution through legal, medical, and environmental research that leads to science-based solutions and effective public policy. We advocate for change within existing processes and organizations, creating partnerships and participating in multi-stakeholder collaboration. Our resource center brings together research, expert advisors, and grassroots tools to educate citizens and to engage industry and lawmakers. We emphasize the need for individuals to assume responsibility as both a cause and a solution to air pollution.
