Instead of driving or to drive smarter:

  • See our drive smarter resource page for ideas.

  • Participate in the Care to Clear the Air initiative and learn strategies to reduce driving and improve our air.

  • Whenever possible, walk, bike, use mass transit, carpool or telecommute. Stop idling your engine.
  • Don't idle if you will be stopped for more than 10 seconds.  Don't idle your engine to warm it up (it isn't necessary). Read about idling myths.  For more information, visit Idle-Free Utah for more information.
  • Combine errands for the week into one, big trip. Trip chaining reduces mileage and, thus, pollution.
