Avoid Idling
Idling your vehicle uses more gasoline and causes more emissions than driving for the same time period.  It also exposes the vehicle inhabitants to excessive pollution.  If you are going to stop for more than 10 seconds, turn off your car.

Carpool to Work and School
Carpool or rideshare to work or school using programs available from UTA Rideshare and Divide the Ride.

Telecommute to Work
Telecommute to work if possible, even one day a week. Or talk to your employer about working a compressed work week.

Create a Walking School Bus
Start a walking school bus in your neighborhood to get kids to school in a healthy and emission-free way.

Maintain your Vehicle
Check out the Check out the Vehicle Maintenance Guide (pdf) from the Dept. of Environmental Quality for steps you can take to reduce the emissions from your vehicle.
