Everyday Actions to Improve Air Quality
Instead of driving or to drive smarter:
- Whenever possible, walk, bike, use mass transit, carpool or telecommute.
- Stop idling your engine. Don't idle if you will be stopped for more than 10 seconds. Don't idle your engine to warm it up (it isn't necessary).

- Combine errands for the week into one, big trip. Trip chaining reduces mileage and, thus, pollution.
- Telecommute to work, even one day a week
