HB 176 Vehicle Emissions Reduction Program

Link

This bill was first brought last year during the 2019 General Session. The purpose is to appropriate money to a fund that will provide financial assistance to purchase a newer, cleaner to certain qualified low-income drivers whose cars have failed emissions tests. A similar program is already being administered through the local health departments that were awarded the EPA Targeting Airshed Grant for Vehicle Replacement Assistance. This would essentially provide additional funding to the already established program, although it is unclear at this point whether or not this bill dictates new or additional criteria.
